I’ve been a vegetarian for 3 weeks now. It’s kind of hard not eating meat but it’s easier than I thought it would be. I’d like to go vegan soon, but that will be harder for me. A lot of what I’ve been eating has dairy. I haven’t tried any vegan dairy alternatives yet so I’ll have to try some and see if I like them. But are there any ways to make it easier to go vegan, since I’m so used to a meat, egg and dairy filled diet?
I’ve noticed that vegan food has a much cleaner and less oily taste that sometimes takes awhile for your palette to get used to…just go slow, no one said you had to do it over night. Think about the food your craving, then find what vegan food soothes that craving.
You’ve got the right idea – try different vegan alternatives and find the ones you like, then eat the things you would normally eat but with the replacements instead.
Before I went vegan, I decided on foods I “couldn’t live without” and made an effort to find as many different vegan versions/alternatives as possible so I wouldn’t be tempted to go back, maybe you could try this too?
