    Hello all,
I am attempting the vegetarian diet and since it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been on this site, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of sources about how to have a balanced diet, recipes, etc.
I’m a very picky eater, so I’ve been finding it slightly difficult to find foods that give me all the nutrition I need (mostly because I’m ignorant when it comes to nutritional value of foods…)
Thank you for your help! :D

Hey @Tarawr, every one has given you great advice so far. I’m glad you hear that you’ve decided to go veg! peta2 also has a two week sample menu to give you some ideas, you can check that out here: http://www.peta2.com/lifestyle/two-week-sample-vegan-menu/ if you’d like. :)

A tip would be to start out slow, you dont want it to have a bad effect on your body , take baby steps.

If you want to educate yourself in-detail on nutrition, check out http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/ and spend some time on their individual fact sheets, meal plans, and nutritional guides.

Also check out http://www.vegweb.com/ for some great recipes. If you’re not a good cook already, you’re going to need to learn!

Finding all of your nutrition on a balanced animal free diet is extremely easy – most of the worries about “protein deficiency” are from omnivore propaganda.

    Congrats on going veggie! :)

If you feel you’re eating a balanced diet already, then just vegetarianise the meals you already eat by replacing the meat with beans, tofu, vegetables, faux meats, lentils etc.
