Yeah that’s crap. Okay, if it’s a religious thing and somehow that makes killing “okay”, sure they can eat it. That’s not my problem. But from a vegan perspective; is it okay to kill and eat the meat? Hell no! The definition of vegan is to not eat anything that has a heart or a biproduct of a being that has a heart! So I think nothing would make killing = showing respect (because if a person kills another person, that’s nothing like respecting, right?), but if they want to, go ahead.

They are raised in the same factory farms as the other animals which makes it cruel and unfair but the atcual slaughter is painless because the nerve that feels pain is cut.

Halal means “in God’s name”. The animals are slaughtered by having their throats slit. Its considered to be ‘respectful’ because is it prayed over and aligned with Mecca.

Read about kosher meats in eating animals. It talks about a scadal where the animals for “kosher” meats where being treated horrificly (however most of the Islamic community had no idea and were shocked and outraged at this). The point is, just because it is claimed kosher does not mean the living conditions are that much better.

Putting all this aside, I don’t simply not eat meat b/c of the abuse is the industry but b/c meat is unnecesary, and unneccesary killing is murder.

If I were to kill a cow with a knife, slowly and painfully over a period of several hours, that would be very inhumane.
If I were to use a device to completely vaporize the cow’s head instantaneously while she happily grazes in a field (without her even being aware of my presence) that would be much less inhumane.

However, both methods are still inhumane.
There is no humane way for a human to unnecessarily kill and eat another being, regardless of the dictations of imaginary gods.

If you’re having trouble comprehending this because of your upbringing, perhaps try asking yourself if there is a humane way that I could kill and eat you, or one of your loved ones?
Is there a humane way that I could kill and eat your mother, father, sister or brother?

Personally, I don’t believe a supreme being should spiritually tell us what is right or wrong or what to do, to me that is only as excuse to act out of dis-compassion.
