Nope, I had the option to either do another computer option or stay and watch. I chose to stay and let anyone know who wondered why I was not doing the assignment that it was against my beliefs. Also, I am pretty sure your teacher is not allowed to do that. Next time ask for a parent note and bring it up with the principal if the teacher goes against you. You should not be forced to go against your beliefs/ethics.
Nope, I actually got an ‘A’ in the class because I *didn’t* dissect. The kids that did the dissection had to fill out an 11 page, 200 question packet, then had to take a 200 point test over the packet. The kids that did not dissect wrote a paper a day, each day focusing on a different body system and had no test. The papers weren’t even graded, you just had to fill up the front side of a piece of notebook paper.
I finished biology with a 99 grade point average without having to dissect anything. Everyone else dissected the usual frog but our teacher also let everyone dissect star fishes. He was an amazing teacher. He made sure that the frogs my class used died of natural causes. It still is considered wrong in my opinion but he gave everyone the option of going to the library during this time instead of dissecting and look at the virtual dissection on the computer that was animated.
