Hello! I wanted to see everyone else’s opinion on this particular subject. I have two fuzzy friends (ferrets). Ferrets are carnivores and they can’t really have veggies at all. If given too much vegetables, it can cause a deadly intestinal blockage! Their ideal diet consists of raw meat or meat-packed kibble. I have heard of people veganizing their fuzzies. However, it has caused shorter lifespans and problems in the long run. So, I do feed my ferrets meat based kibble. My opinion is that it isn’t my ferrets’ faults that God made them carnivores. I do not want my ferrets to die because of my personal diet. I know my opinion. I want to hear everyone’s opinions. (This is in no way intended to start a war.)

Being a fellow ferret owner , Ferrets were built for meat and you are correct, serious medical issues can arise with giving your ferret too many veggies:)

@hakred, I am very glad to hear your kitty is doing well on the vegan diet! Like I mentioned, I have only ever had dogs. I was just told this from several cat owners, but it’s very exciting to hear that cats can do just as well as dogs with the vegan food. I was in no way at all trying to offend anyone with my statement.

Any dog owners have any other vegan food brands besides V-Dog? :)

@xshelbyxtaylorx, my kitty is perfectly healthy (and vegan)! Feeding her vegan kitty food isn’t counterproductive at all. It’s formulated to fit her needs. :)

I only have a dog, and I feed her V-Dog dog food when I can find it in stores around here. But cats and ferrets should stick to their meat diet; after all, you’re the vegan! It would be rather counterproductive to try to veganize your cat/ferret when it makes them sick.
