Gumtree is an online classified advertising site, allowing users to buy, sell or give away anything and everything. Sadly this includes animals. The ‘Get Gumtree Animal-Free’ campaign aims to end this policy.

    But what can you do?

    1. Monitor the website and report any breaches to their policies of banning the sales of: puppies or kittens below the age of 8 weeks, pregnant animals, livestock, animals from breeders and working dogs. They also don’t allow animals to be swapped. Report anything you see.

    2. Sign this e-petition: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/25678

    3. Join the ‘Get Gumtree Animal-Free’ group on Facebook.

    4. Write to Gumtree and ask them to ban all animal adverts.

    Thanks for all your help.

I’ve wanted to write a petition for ages against this and Craiglist, but I’m crap at writing petitions so glad someone else did it.
