Ok so here’s my intro so far thanks to your help (:
“How many of you have ever had your hair pulled out or caught up on something? I’m sure that’s most of you and regardless of the situation, it probably hurt, didn’t it? Now imagine being locked up in a small confined space for your entire life just so people could pull your hair out and resell it for personal gain, imagine watching all of your friends be slaughtered for their skin, turned into an expensive design with only you left waiting patiently for your turn to come. Sounds like torture doesn’t it? Sadly, this is the life that millions of animals are forced to live everyday and at what cost? ”
It’s still rough around the edges but it’s coming along slowly but surely

That’s perfect actually. I never would have thought of something like that. Lol I’m pretty good at putting a speech together but I can’t seem to ever get a good intro so I usually just skip that part until the end. The idea you’ve provided is wonderful and now all I have to do is get all these pretty little ideas on paper and we’re good. Thank you ever so dearly.

can you post your intro? ive always been the “second” best (im right after the girl who likes to give coach purses and expensive stuff to our teachers…) at speeches, im sure i can help!
you need to start with a universal idea, not a personal idea. That way, you don’t turn anyone away. Maybe you could start off talking about hair, and how painful it is when someone pulls it. that way the first thing you do is convince the audience to feel a little more pathos for the animals! something like “if you’ve ever been in a fight, you know how unfair it is when someone pulls your hair. for those of you who box or do karate, you agree that pulling hair is an illegal move. but imagine being raised just so you could have your hair ripped out, along with the rest of the skin on your body” (thats just a rough intro, it needs some ‘smoothing out’ )
just remember, whatever your intro is, you need to be able to relate your conclusion to it!
(you take a public speaking class, so you likely know all that. I just added it in for anyone else who needs help and just might happen to stumble across this post!)
