Hi! During the summer I took up volunteering for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant orphanage in Africa, after I learned about the current poaching crisis (an African elephant is killed every 15 minutes for their tusks). In the past, I have been active in working in the animal rights and animal welfare scenes. I recently applied for a scholarship on a website that allows students to share volunteer experience… The catch is that the scholarships are given based on popular votes. I really need help. The website is nationalstudentday.com and my story is from University of Regina and is titled “The Elephant Orphanage”. After registering for a voters account, you can vote every day. Many people are already way ahead of me, so if you can please please PLEASE help by voting and getting your friends/family to vote, that would be awesome. Also, please look up the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and check out the orphaned elephants’ stories. They are super cute, super fun to see, and unfortunately many have lost their parents due to poaching.
Thanks infinitely! <3
