For lunch I made brown rice with stir-fried Gardein “chicken,” zucchini, squash, broccoli, and cauliflower sauteed in light extra virgin olive oil, with black and red pepper, and low-sodium soy sauce. Then I shredded some vegan cheddar almond “cheese” on top.

For dinner I, of course, made a veggie burger, Boca original vegan to be specific, and mixed things up by making eggplant french fries.

For dessert I tried the So Delicious coconut milk ice cream sandwiches in banana split flavor! <3

@CarolineS AW! I’m sorry! That really DOES sound uncomfortable. Well, maybe by your example, they’ll decide to rethink eating meat. And that was probably very smart of you not to make a fight out of it. That just makes people defensive. Congrats on not caving to the pressure of eating meat though! *vegan hug!*

:[ My fourth of July was uncomfortable. I went to my boyfriend's house [Non-Vegetarian/Vegan] to find that he was chosen this year to grill the meat…
I try my best to not be overbearing and just sat near him while he cooked… I don’t like making big deals and getting into arguments… so all I ate was grilled corn and rice
Everyone else ate meat.. it made me gag a little.. :/
They started questioning me and talking about kids and how I had to let my kids know both sides and stuff… but I just tried changing the subject

:O I want to make a vegan or at least vegetarian meal for everyone.. but I feel no one would want to try it just knowing that it is.. :\

I went swimming. I’m in the part of the US that is suffering from severe storms and power outages right now, so we didn’t have any food to cook out because our fridge cannot keep it cool.

For lunch, I had rice and beans (with spices and stuff– so good!). For a snack, I had a hot pretzel and watermelon. For dinner I had vegetable stir-fry, and for dessert I had a strawberry Italian ice. It was amazing. Of course, the best part was the fireworks! XD

Life summary : I love animals even more than people

  • jpatr1d

I have always loved animals, no matter what shape, size, color, species they are. I started as a vegetarian a few years ago, but i only knew that i didn't want to eat animal. i stoped for a while when i lost my job and ate what i could. no excuse i know. but soon later to realized my mission in life and purpose. i am here to be the voice of those who do not speak human. i changed my outlook to this because i found a boxer mix dog laying under my porch. she had gotten hit by a car and was severely starved. everyone around me was like leave it alone, you don't know where it came from, but i didn't care i had to save her. i rushed her to the emergency vet clinic where they did immediate surgery on her. despite those peoples commentary i saved a dogs life and from that point on i knew that if people treated a dog that way i wonder how people treat non domestic animals. I researched and came across peta2 where i now am an animal activist and vegan. I continue to help and save animals that i find and plan on never changing my ways for any one.
