I basically tell them what I actually feel. Peta isn’t perfect and I don’t always agree with how they do some things (i.e. marketing) however I do support the morals and philosophy behind Peta which is that animals should have rights and live lived safe from being exploited.

I think one thing people get upset with is how PETA uses over sexualization. But everything does now. And sex attracts people. People might hate some of the campaigns or find them to sexual or stupid. But thats what works. People complaining about how bad PETA is gets it in the media, and thats exactly what we want. sex and shock is the only thing that works with todays media.

Well I normally purposely just ignore the people that are just trying to be jerks about it and get under my skin. Though if people are genuinely curious as to why I still support PETA even with all the slander against them I tell them how I feel. There is multiple reasons I still support PETA. First and for most I feel they are the biggest wide spread animal rights organization there is so they have a great ability to reach a large audience of people. They have a lot of money and awesome stickers and propaganda to help get the word out everywhere (I was first introduced to animal rights because of a free PETA kids magazine at my library). Yes they kill animals but facts are there isn’t enough homes for all the animals, people are the ones who give their animals to PETA, PETA is an AR organization not an animal shelter etc. I support other smaller animal rights organizations and groups but PETA still has the biggest out reach etc.

My boyfriend for a long time was VERY against PETA. But i told him its something i personally believe in. He soon got over it and realized he should support me. Every time someone says something rude about peta i always saw “You may not believe in the same things as other people. But that doesn’t give you a right to vilify their beliefs to such detestable lengths.” They normly dont know how to respond.
