CHILL. It’s NOT a big deal. Everyone makes mistakes! Just be careful next time, okay?

It’s alright (: I’m pretty sure we’ve all made mistakes and some of us have even had some weak moments. It’s alright. The important thing is that you get back up (:

Even people who’ve been vegan for years and years make mistakes, but the good thing about mistakes is they help us learn not to make them again.

You were drinking milk for years before that, so one glass shouldn’t make you so devastated. Take it easier on yourself.

Everyone makes mistakes. When I’m very tired, I even lose my vegan instinct, even though I have been vegan for 7 months. Also, when my family cooks meat, my conscious mind says “ew” and I feel sick, but that primal thing inside me says “food. eat.” I made a series of mistakes in my first week as a vegan, but none recently. It gets so much easier, and everyone else gets used to it, too. Don’t give up!

Yeah. :( I messed up accidentally yesterday too. My friend and I were drinking lattes and we traded to try eachothers and I just take it for granted that lattes are vegan, because I’ve always ordered mine with soy milk. It was just a sip, but still…. I’m just going to remember to pay more attention and to remember that other people aren’t vegan. Howeverrrr she says mine tasted sooo good, that she’s going to get the same thing next time. :) Even with soy milk!!! So yeah, I messed up with one little sip. But she’s going to get an entire cruelty-free latte next time, so it wasn’t tooo bad.

Like, you said… don’t sweat it. You drank it accidentally.
It’s good that you’re already so bothered by drinking cow’s milk though.
Pretty much all humans would be so repulsed by drinking it if they weren’t raised doing so. And if they’re aware of the amount of pain and suffering behind it, they should be as emotionally upset as well.

I’ve noticed that some people have been given the impression that there’s some sort of all-or-nothing rule which causes them to feel as though they’ve somehow ‘failed’ if they consume any amount of meat or dairy when transitioning to a vegan diet.
Example: “I tried going vegan once but I failed one night when I ate a piece of cheese, so that was the end of it.”
Hopefully you haven’t been given that impression.

Shortly after I went vegan (a few days), my little brother made me some toast. I made sure that he used the vegan butter.. but I didn’t even think about the bread until it was too late. He gave me the bread that my parents eat because it was laying near the toaster. Once I realized what had happened, I felt sick.. I had a similar reaction to yours.

The point, any way – is that we’re all bound to have oopsies in the beginning. It’s something we’re not used to, it’s an entire lifestyle change. Don’t beat yourself up for it, @pinkoholic! Instead, try take something from it. For me, I made sure that I payed much closer attention to what went in my food when any one was preparing food for me.

This doesn’t set you back, it doesn’t mean you’re not vegan. It is a learning experience. I hope that your stomach feels better pronto, and congrats on switching to a compassionate vegan lifestyle! :)

People will make mistakes, and I’m so sorry that happened!:( One day I got really hungry and almost cooked mini sausage biscuits, but I caught myself, but I was only been a vegetarian for 2 days. The reason I brang that up is because you haven’t been a vegan long, so learn for this mistake:) be strong ^-^ and carry on!
