Hello fellow activists. I am a 15 year old girl who went vegetarian fr about three months. It was great except there was a small problem. My immune system seemed to be failing me and I got sick every two weeks (like a cold or flu). I also lost a lot of weight and got weaker. my mom finally made me stop when I dropped down to 114 pounds (I’m 5 foot 8 inches). My mom says once I get some “meat” on me I can maybe try again. Any ideas on how to keep my weight up and keep me happy and healthy and my mother worried free?
    Thanks in advance! :)

You could research different vegetarian meal plans that will keep the weight on you while at the same time help you stay healthy. :) Good luck.

Try vegetarian or vegan burgers ! They are great tasting , and will supply vitamins , and nutrients ! I have been a vegetarian for 3 , almost 4 , years , and in the beginning my mom tried to make me eat meat because I had rapid weight loss . But the doctors told me I was perfectly healthy . So like the person below me said , get the doctors involved . (:

One idea is that you should always have your doctor involved to make sure your getting all the nutrients and things you need. You should also consider talking to a nutritionist. But remember to always have an open communication with your doctor! 😀 I hope it all works out for you! 😀

Make sure you have a healthy, balance diet and don’t reply too much on one or two foods. It might have been that you weren’t eating enough food (If you are active, you may have been burning more calories that what you consumed in a day.) Make sure you do some research on what foods you should be eating and in what portions. As for your low immune system, It sounds like you might be low on Omega-3, Iron, Zinc or B-12. I suggest getting a blood test to make sure everything’s okay. A daily multi-vitamin might help. Best of luck ! :)
