Last night, my boyfriend’s mom invited us to dinner for boyfriend’s brother’s birthday.
At the Texas Steakhouse.
We’re talking about Buffalo heads hanging from the walls, and stuffed quail and skunks around the tables.
I didn’t say anything, because I try really hard to get along with his family.
I figured “hey, they’re bound to have something I can eat.”
My options were LITERALLY lettuce and tomatoes… and applesauce.
The lettuce was wilted, the tomatoes were squishy, and I don’t like applesauce so I didn’t get any.
I can honestly say, I’ve never been to such a non-vegan-friendly restaurant. Granted, it is a STEAKHOUSE but still… They have to figure at SOME point a vegan or vegetarian is going to get dragged along with their family.
I actually think I’m going to write them a letter about how uncomfortable and disappointing the experience was.
That’s funny, I went to “texas roadhouse” last night and they have a veggie option where you can choose 4 sides, including a salad and baked potatoes, corn, ugh not their green beans though, they are cooked with bacon
What is it with people inviting veg*ns to steakhouses? I’ve been drug to one or two without option, but I think any future invitations will be blatantly declined. Thanks for the invite, but…. reeeeeeaaally? It has always been a horrible experience.
That’s how it was when my parents and I went to Vegas and my dad wanted to go this place, as a result I was dragged along. There were only side options for me as i remember, macaroni and cheese and vegetables. Luckily my parents shared some of their non-meat food with me. I think sending them a letter would be a good idea!
