Three weeks ago my (ex) boyfriend broke up with me through the grapevine. I found out last night one of the biggest reasons was because I’m vegetarian. He told my friend that it was too difficult to deal with. I’m really frustrated, I never pressured him or even asked him to go vegetarian. I explained my beliefs surrounding why I choose to be vegetarian. He never had to go out of his way or change any aspects of his life. I had already moved on, but hearng this, after constantly getting teased by him and his family really irritates me. I guess I just needed to vent with people who I feel would understand.

I feel you on a spiritual level.
My ex boyfriend was a total dick.
I’m a vegan and he would constantly taunt me for it. We were walking past a panda express free sample thing in the mall and i was like “ughhhh im a vegannnn ” in a hella sarcastic voice. I thought it was funny as shit and he shouted “I FUCKN LOVE MEAT” at the top of his lungs, which would normally be funny but the tone he used was really condescending and pissed me off. Then on that same day we were shopping for prom shoes and i wanted some that weren’t made of leather because i’m not an ashat and he said that nothing i do matters and that i should get over myself.
Needless to say he went to prom alone.
Moral of the story is that if someone is that petty and belittles you for your beliefs dump their stupid ass lol.
(BTW i’m gay and my boyfriend was a trans guy)

That’s so rude! I’m sorry, this must be hard for you but don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll find someone better!

    It’s fine.
    You deserve better.

He could have simply respected your decision as you were not forcing it on him.

It may be for the best. If he wasn’t willing to make an accommodation for your lifestyle, then he probably wouldn’t be too much fun to live with.
