Whenever my parents try and buy meat i will always try my best to tell them off and not to buy it and stuff. most of the time they don’t care and buy it anyways. sometimes it will be at my house and nobody eats it! my parents already payed for it and theres no way i could give back life to this animal, so whats the harm in eating it right? or would it be wrong? why does meat feel like a drugg lol

Try and educate your parents as best as possible. I made a powerpoint explaining all the health benefits to not consuming meat and my dad is now a vegetarian. Politely explain to them why it is healthy and saves many animals, and don’t try shame them for eating meat or they will just get offended. Kindness and knowledge is power!

Hey @alexmeyer18! If your parents have to keep throwing it away, common sense will kick in and they will eventually learn that it’s better to stop wasting their money. However, if you consume the meat product, they will continue to buy more. Try slapping some of these labels on their trash can prone meat products (& earn some street team points for free goods while you’re at it): http://www.peta2.com/achievements/meat-ingredient-labels/home/

You can’t give the animal his or her life back, but you CAN prevent others like them from suffering and eventually enduring possibly the worst death imaginable. If you would like some tips to help you get started as a vegetarian or to talk to your parents, check out these links:

Everyone in my family eats meat, but me. Just because it’s already dead doesn’t make a difference. Imagine it alive and you eating it’s breast if you have to. Imagine someone eating your dead body. Its the same thing but in animal form. Think of that the next time you choose to eat it.

im the only true vegetarian in my household but have 2 semi-vegetarian sisters and my brother and dad are practically carnivores but are always too busy to cook the bought meat that i had warned them not to buy so i either convince them to cook it buy telling them the life and money they would be wasting or convince the semi-vegetarians to cook it for them

My parents both eat meat, but I’ll never touch it. I don’t eat animals. That isn’t going to change just because it’s already there and dead.
Besides, my parents buy less meat because they know I won’t eat it.
