Something I’ve been seeing a lot of lately in people’s profiles on social networking sites (mainly instagram. I’m a total instagram stalker.) is the statement “I’m a Vegan/vegetarian”
Like saying they’re both o.O
I don’t really understand, but it instantly pisses me off every time.
I mean… you could say you’re vegetarian if you’re vegan, I suppose… but you can’t say you’re vegan if you’re vegetarian.
It really makes me think those are the people who have “jumped on the bandwagon” so to speak, and don’t really give two craps. They’re just saying it to be… I don’t know. Freaking hipsters.
What do you guys think?
We complain about things Omnivores say all the time. Give the tables a turn.
Vegetarians and Vegans are like a new born child to most people.
After a few weeks they learn of us, it is a slow crawling pace really, but it takes us to crawl before baby steps.
As more and more people learn about his better way of life then those baby steps turn into a walk and then a run.
Soon people will be wanting to know more and more about what we stand for and it wont by just a run but a full on marathon!
But we have to show them that before they can walk they must first crawl.
Being a Vegan isn’t something one (who ate meat all the day’s of life) could easily go over night, first comes Vegetarian and then slowly into Vegan.
Before I ever started returning to being a Vegetarian I crawled and snuck my way to it past my mother.
Every inch counts.
Crawling and baby steps might be slow but it is progress.
