As though it’s completely okay to keep supporting the unnecessary abuse, torture, murder and consumption of innocent, defenseless beings just because there isn’t yet a vegan replacement for a product you really like.

In the past, people would say that they can’t switch to a vegan diet because of the tremendous amount sacrifice involved.
Now that we have vegan replacements for most things, they say that they can’t switch to a vegan diet because of the tiny amount of remaining sacrifice involved.

Dark chocolate is healthy and vegan. :)
Also, health food stores are becoming more and more wide spread. Sure, maybe now you have to plan out your trip to obtain your delicious “milk” chocolate instead of stumbling to 7/11 at 2am stoned/drunk out of your face after going out; isn’t that better for you anyways? On the fly cravings should be ignored. However, I have yet to find a good vegan ice cream…(Not that ice cream is healthy in the first place.)

(I’m not a vegan, I’m a vegetarian. I still consume things from animals, however I trust my local sources.)

So they’re saying crappy milk chocolate like Hershey’s and Nestle are “good” chocolate? What the hell? All the good chocolate I’ve ever eaten has been vegan. More expensive, yes, but that’s because the chocolate that’s dark has more chocolate in it, so it’s a little pricier. But it’s totally worth it.

Everyone says to me “it must be so hard being vegan” and are surprised when I say “not really, there’s a vegan alternative for everything” then they come up with the “but I couldn’t live without my X” excuse. Even when I tell them there’s a replacement for it, they say “but it’s not the same”. People will find any excuse to justify their laziness and cruel diet.

    These are amazing:

I think we need to show people how easy it is being vegan. I once thought that veganism was crazy, but I know now that my diet then as well as my stance were the only things that were really crazy.

If all I had to eat were simple fruits and vegetables, I’d still be vegan – but there are so many different options available that I’m not forced to eat foods that I don’t like or foods that would be tasteless to others.

There are tons of amazing vegan chocolates. I have chocolate a lot and really love dark chocolate, I don’t even miss non-vegan chocolate. There are tons of brands that have different flavours of dark chocolate and chocolate almonds are amazing. People just have to look around and they’d be surprised what they’d find.

They just aren’t looking in the right places. At one of the small local stores here, I found chocolate covered pretzels that happen to be vegan and cost less than the name-brand ones. We also have a bulk amish store that sells chocolate chips in bulk, which happen to be vegan, and cost waaaay less than anything at the supermarket. I actually just found both of them a couple weeks ago haha.
I know not every place has these types of stores, but there is ALWAYS an alternative – especially with such easy access to the internet. Being vegan, and still eating the types of food you like, isn’t impossible and it doesn’t have to be expensive if you just put a little time into looking.
I even found a super cheap vegan chocolate bar at the Dollar General a few years ago. It was some brand I had never heard of, and it wasn’t marketed as vegan (it probably wasn’t made with vegan sugar, but I would rather someone eat that than a Hershey’s bar). I’ll have to go back and see if they still carry them, because there are Dollar General’s all over the place.

Tell them most chocolate comes from Ivory Coast where child trafficking and child slavery is used to collect their oh so precious chocolate like Nestles, Hershey, Godiva, and Mars. If they won’t do it for the animals, maybe they will do it for the children.

This really irritates me, I believe an animal having the right to be free and live is much MUCH more important than having a bit of chocolate, or anything else for that matter. Yes becoming vegan requires sacrifice, but it is so so worth it. I think some people will just come up with any excuse to not become vegan. *very sad*

Some people.. *shakes head* Granted, it took me a while to find a good vegan chocolate, but animal rights and veganism is wayyy more important to me than chocolate! Some people just cant make the connection, and their indulgences are more important to them than an animals life :(
