Justice was a four month old puppy who witnesses say was nearly strangled and then doused in lighter fluid and set on fire by four extremely cruel men last year in Pleasant Grove in Dallas, Texas. After darting around an apartment complex enduring the excruciating pain of being burned alive, a witness was able to catch him and smother the flames with a shirt. Unfortunately, by that time Justice had suffered third-degree burns on 70% of his body. Vets did everything they could to save him, but Justice sadly ended up dying as a result of the severe burns. After all of this, the four men plead guilty but the punishment was not nearly as severe as it should have been. Although the ringleader, Darius Ewing was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, which is a State Jail Felony in Texas punishable with a $10,000 fine and/or a jail sentence up to 10 years, he was only sentenced to 2 years in prison even though he agreed to a 5 year sentence.
