    A wildlife rehab in Australia puts sweaters on penguins to help keep them alive and warm during oil spills. They’re always welcome to sweaters, though they aren’t urgently needed. Excess, wrong size and wrong yarn get sold to raise additional funds for their efforts. It’s adorable and a good cause. Patterns for knit and crochet are on their site, People get really creative with these. I saw one little penguin sweater that was a superman costume, so have fun.

    @peppermintcherry I thought you were probably aware but I just wanted to make sure other people knew before they decided to knit hundreds of sweaters!

    Oh I know. I mentioned that in my original post. The sweaters are not urgently needed but always welcome, but it’s a fun and cute way to help, whether they get sold or actually used on penguins :)

    They don’t actually need more sweaters for penguins, however any they receive will still be sold (on toy penguins) to raise funds for the charity.
