I AM SO ENRAGED! i want to hold a protest in front of marineland CANADA and i will do it alone if i have to. the toronto star released an arrticle that is not shocking, but sick. An ex marineland worker has released photos of the mistreatments and abuse these animals are recieving. NOT ONLY ARE THE WATER CONDITIONS POOR AND CAUSING BLINDNESS, AND INFECTIONS but a baby beluga whale got attacked and killed also which the owner blamed on mennengitis. They lock the seals and walrus in a dry room during the winter and at night time, where they cry out in pain as their skin dries up with only a small bucket of fresh water to stick their heads in. The dolphins skin is so poor that its peeling off, and they swim around in agonising pain. They have lost their dignity, their personalities their happiness and this needs to stop.. PLEASE HELP ME PROTEST TO GET THIS PLACE SHUT DOWN.

Create a FB event, post it on twitter, email your animal loving friends, post a couple fliers about it! I’m nowhere near you, but I’d come help if I could.

I saw this article too!! I live in Toronto for years, and this neglect and cruelty has been going on for years and years. I refused to go to this hellhole and encouraged all my friends and family from doing the same! I wish that I still lived in TO, I would be right there with you!!
I also read that Storybook Gardens, which is a small theme park in London ON, sent a few seals there because they no longer had the resources to keep them. The seals were given a clean bill of health upon leaving the small park and the owner thought that Marineland was the best place to send these animals because they had “educated and caring staff”.
The owner when to visit the seals a while later to see his seals and discovered that one had gone blind from the poor water conditions and they all had skin diseases and were suffering of malnutrition and a long list of other health problems that they did not have when he sent them. This makes me so frustrated and sad, but the general public are either ignorant to the problems or it is just hidden really well and all the sick animals are kept behind the scenes.
I wish you nothing but the best of luck, I hope you and PETA can make some steps toward getting this cesspool shut down for good!!
