  • Non-vegan oranges?!

    I saw a bag of oranges at the supermarket the other day and when I read the packaging it said the oranges were glazed with beeswax to keep them fresh. WTF!

    They’re also putting something made from seafood onto banana skins to prevent them from ripening… its seriously annoying and pointless.

    @peppermintcherry thank you for the heads up! I’ll make sure I check before I buy them.at the store. :) We get a lift of fruits and vegetables delivered to my house, which are fresh picked, so I know those ones are okay.

    @justgingersnap, stopthisanimalcruelty99 and taywharris, beeswax can be organic, so putting a glaze of organic beeswax on organic fruits, wouldn’t negate their organic status. Myabe they do, maybe they don’t. the only organic produce i can get here are carrots and they’re too expensive for me, so I really have no experience in this area
