It happens to everyone! What matters is that you do your best! I’m sure you’ll be careful checking labels even more than you already were :) .

I’m vegan and I have accidentally consumed milk and feel awful, but I just move on and remember to check labels the next time! Don’t beat yourself up for it!

@Rainstar Yes, the milk will eventually leave your system. I think every one has probably had a little accidental consumption of animal products at least at the start of a vegan diet. For me, I know I did. What is important is that we learn from it, and start paying more attention to the ingredients that we’re consuming in our food.

Long after my own oopsies as a new vegan, I am still living a vegan lifestyle and haven’t had any more accidents. I make sure that I prepare my own food so that I know exactly what is going into it, I check all ingredients to make sure they’re safe (if they’re questionable ingredients, I e-mail companies), and if someone else is preparing my food (family, friends).. I go through every ingredient with them to ensure that it’s vegan. Those are just a few things that you can do to help prevent any future accidents from happening. It’s all a learning experience after all, so don’t beat yourself up for it! :)
