Sorry to get so personal just want to know if it’s just me. Did going vegetarian cause a decrease in your sex drive? Some people say it causes an increase. I was not sexually active before I became vegetarian so I don’t know if my lack of sex drive has a correlation. Again sorry for the personal question. You don’t have to answer I am just trying to figure it out. Thank you!
You guys make good points. I wasn’t looking for a definite answer it was more of a poll. I asked my closest friends and some of them had different answers and different reasoning. There are a lot of variables to consider indeed. This one was a big one to consider based on the hormonal changes that take place in your body when switching to vegetarianism or switching back to meat eater. Thank you for your replies!
I personally think veg*ns make healthier lovers (no meat clogging their arteries can mean more stamina!) but as for sex drive, I agree with @arkadezach, there are too many other things that can also decrease/increase a person’s sex drive so without knowing more personal details about your life (which I don’t think would be appropriate to share on these boards) then it’s difficult to say.
I think there are too many variables to have an indefinite answer. I know that going vegan/vegetarian obviously makes you healthier, so maybe as a secondary benefit, being “healthier” could carry over in to how active you are in an intimate situation. It could be that an individual has lost weight because of the change to vegan/vegetarianism. That could have sparked confidence to be brave enough to pursue a sexual encounter. It could be, as far as males go, blood pressure contributed to sexual performance and going vegan/vegetarian helped to remedy it. Who knows!?! I, personally, hadn’t really noticed much of a difference either or.
