Hello my fellow vegans, and vegans ONLY,
I was wondering you guys can answer some of my pet questions.

How many pets do you have? What type of pets are they? What brand/food do you feed them?
Also, if you own a pet cat or dog and you feed them vegan food, what brand do you feed them? I am looking for an easily accessible and cheap vegan brand for both cats and dogs. Thanks in advance.

I am assuming most of you feed them vegan food, that’s why I didn’t want meat eater or vegetarians to answer, lol. Then I would have tons of them against it and discriminating between animals, I just don’t want to deal with that, so if you have don’t have something positive to say then don’t say anything at all.

We feed our 2 dogs a raw diet so they don’t eat tinned food and rarely eat biscuits( they have mixers though). They tend to what whatever is left over now as in chicken, rice and carrots kinda deal.
The cat on the other he’s a bit more picky, he gets his meat too but he mostly eats cat biscuits.

Personally @lizforanimalrights16 I don’t think it’s hypocritical to feed a natural carnivore meat as sure we don’t want to help the industry at all but if it’s what’s best for your loved one then it’s what’s best. We buy the meat we feed them from a local sheep farm and as they keep many other animals including chickens we sometimes pick up and dead animals that died from natural causes for them, they’d just be created otherwise in the fire pit.

@lizforanimalrights16 Sorry, I misunderstood :/ . I know that Halo brand and Natural Balance brand offer vegan options for cats and dogs. There are also some supplements that you can get your cats to take to get them to have the nescessary vitamins and minerals if they are missing vitamins or minerals.

@thevegandancer I already have two pets, one dog and one kitten which I bought at the pet store, I didn’t adopt, nor do I think I will ever since I like small animals. I’ve been to shelters but most of the animals are old and some are terrified of humans, some aggressive, etc. not what I want.
I feed both my dog and cat normal pet food that is why I asked for people who fed their pets VEGAN food and to please not comment if you didn’t. I understand that cat and health thing but I feel it’s hypocritical to feed pets meat. I mean that’s like discriminating to me. I can’t kill an African for some white person to get an organ and live, doesn’t make sense to me at least, I know that for vegans and yourself it does, but not to me. That is why I wanted to buy vegan pet food but they are rare and expensive so thanks any way. But if you do know of some VEGAN brands please comment back.

I have two kitties, Earl Grey and Charlie(We share a name :)) I Don’t know either breed, we rescued. And I buy them Purina Naturals cat food, which has meat in it, but meat is essential for cats. PeTA’s whole “Go Vegan” thing is for humans….. And a cat might not get enough nutrients on a vegan/vegetarian diet. And vegan cat food is very rare and very expensive…. But be sure to adopt and never buy (obviously), and to take good care of them. I wish you the best of luck and love with your new cutie!
