• Shaking a lot

I’ve been a vegetarian for about 6 months now. Before I go vegan I am just trying to learn how to stay healthy without animal products. Anyways lately, for the past few days I’ve been shaking, a lot. Could this have something to do with me not getting the right nutrition? It really frightens me and I can’t seem to think of anything else that could cause shaking sense I have no medical issues or anxiety. Thanks in advance.

If your hands start shaking and you feel weak, irritable, and hungry about three hours after you eat, Sara-W is right. It could be low blood sugar. It can be hereditary or caused by food intolerances. When people go vegetarian, they start eating more whole grains and corn. Gluten could possibly be a problem. Maybe keep a food journal and make note of when you start shaking, and what and when you’ve eaten. Check lists of symptoms to see if you fit more than one:
If low blood sugar is your problem, you’ll need to eat small meals and snacks about every 3 hours – a combo of protein and carbs (like an apple and peanut butter). Any questions, feel free to message me. I’ve been vegetarian for a little over 2 years, and have had low blood sugar for probably all my life.

    Hey @soupad,

Oh no! Sometimes that happens to me when I have low blood sugar. I eat a piece of fruit and that usually helps. Just make sure you’re eating a balanced diet- remember there’s NO nutrient you can’t get on a vegan diet:

If it persists you should definitely see a doctor, though!
