I was wondering if I shouldn’t go to any aquariums or zoos because they are cruel, or is it ok? I use to enjoy them, but now they seem wrong, animals belong in their natural habitats not in tanks or cages.

Google the zoo you are about to go to. Visit their website. Read reviews. Talk with your family and friends and ask them if they have been to the place that you are about to go to.

Depends. If it’s a poorly run place that gives the animals low priority, then most certainly not. But if it’s a proper zoo, not a problem. We have a zoo in my city, very proper place. Animals are out in the open air, they have plenty of space, are fed and watered well, etc. Great place to check out.

Okay, I’m not nice like the other people that commented on here, so be prepared. lol
Don’t go because by you going there and paying them, it’s saying that it’s okay to be cruel to the animals there. If you see them wrong now, don’t go! Easy as that!
I went to one a few years ago, I cried because I was so sad for the fish (I went to an aquarium), and I could never EVER go to a zoo/aquarium ever again.

It is up to you. Even if zoos and aquariums are well run and “treat their animals right” they are still just exploiting the animals for money. I know it may seem hard because who doesn’t like being able to see the animals up close and personal but it still isn’t fair to the animals. If anything try and find sanctuaries to visit.

I think it all depends on your opinion and the zoo/aquarium you are visiting. I would do a history search on the particular zoo/aquarium that you are visiting. Some of these places are very responsible and make sure that all their animals are safe, clean, and treat them with respect. These kinds of places can most definitely be educational, entertaining, and cruelty free. Some of these places are trying to protect endangered animals or are providing a safe environment for animals that can’t be released back into the wild. However, there are also many zoos/aquariums that use these animals as sheer entertainment and business. These places only care about your money and the welfare of these animals is completely abolished. Workers might not clean, feed, and even abuse these innocent creatures. Also, these places capture these beautiful animals from the wild and put them into a cage or tank, denying them from all their natural behaviors. Personally, I don’t go to the zoo or the aquarium, I prefer sanctuaries or something of the sort.
