Instead of saying “no” all the time (honestly, some people don’t grow out of that toddler phase and dislike being told “no” so much they throw fits) say yes to beautiful vegan options. There are tons of vegan items on ebay and there are some small designers making purely vegan clothing and shoes. There is nothing fashionable about wearing dead animal carcasses.

Or you could simply dismiss a cruel option as “sorry, I don’t like it, let’s look at another one” instead of giving the AR spin so she doesn’t feel like she’s being lectured by her sister.

I went shopping for my sister & we were looking at shoes & I kept saying “no, that one is leather,” or “no that one is designed by Jennifer Lopez and she is responsible for lots of animal cruelty.” She got mad at me! can you believe that?! she’s being all condescending saying “well, its not like she’d the only one!” Like that makes it ok, right! I was so beyond angry and it made me even more angry that she couldn’t understand how I feel about it or how horrible leather manufacturing is! She is such a hypocrite also, her friend bought a drink from McDonald’s & she makes them feel all guilty. Plus she eats meat, so I’m glad she doesn’t live at home anymore! Sorry for venting, no one in my house or tiny town understands this stuff, or if they do, they don’t want to talk about it.
