So I know this would have been better if put on one of the other forums but I want this to be seen and this one seems popular. Anyway, I am just wondering about protests. I know there are small protests and of course several different animal rights groups liberating laboratories but I’m talking about something big. I don’t know how to go about this or how it would get organized or started but to me, when I look at all the big movements such as the Civil Rights movement and the Women’s Rights movement, I think of big protests. I would love to see and be a part of a huge movement with marches. So many people don’t know about what goes on regarding animals. And there are so many misunderstandings with vegans and activists that much of what we say is taken for granted and said to be lies and propaganda. But with the Civil Rights movement, everyone more or less knew what was going on. They knew what people were fighting for and they were educated. I plan to go to New York in two years and wouldn’t it be awesome if animal rights activists marched through the streets? Do you guys agree and would you be willing to participate?

@OryAnna12 That is a great idea but I don’t want them to be sponsored by anyone one animal rights group. Many people, including several animal rights activists, are against Peta so even if we did marches, I would want it to be activists from all over versus from one group or another. This way, we will come forward as a whole instead of patches of activists who don’t get along.

@alexblue Thank you so much for the information! I don’t have a page or anything as of now but once I get to New York I plan to start something. I am not sure how but I want to contact people from all animal rights groups so we can all show up, not in the name of just one group but as a whole. Thank you for the links and advice!

That would be supercool! 2 things that might help…
    1. Pick a day every year for a mass march or peaceful protest. Maybe Dec. 10th which is International Animal Rights Day…

    2. Try to hook up with celebrities or politicians who are already animal activists…every rights movement seems to have a leader that people can identify with and listen to and turn to as a role model. Maybe Bob Barker, Jorja Fox or Congressman Rep. Jim Moran who are totally active in the animal rights movement…

Do you have a blog or FB page to help organize it?
