Hi! So, I am going vegan! However, I need a way to (a) tell my parents and (b) have healthy, balanced meals for every day. Plus, I heard that proccessed food, like Oreos, aren’t vegan!!! And I am worried that my parents will think I am just trying to be unique, like with my homosexuality. And my church keeps on bugging me about going vegan!! HELP!!!
We have a ton of recipes, vegan snack lists, resources for talking to your parents, and nutrition info right on the peta2 site! If you send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, I’d be happy to get you all set up with the links to all of these resources 🙂
That’s SO great that you’re going vegan! Welcome to the cruelty-free club… pretty much the best club there is. We’re here to help every step of the way, so just shoot me that email whenever you have a chance!
Some processed foods are vegan, for example, Oreos are vegan in the USA and some other countries.
Be ready to explain to your parents why you want to be vegan, show them you’ve done your research and know your stuff!
Eating a balanced vegan diet is easy – you can eat the same things as before you went vegan but just replace the meat with things like beans, lentils, extra vegetables, tofu or faux meats. And replace the other animal products with things like soya milk, dairy-free cheese etc.
