Life summary : I love animals even more than people
-
jpatr1d
I have always loved animals, no matter what shape, size, color, species they are. I started as a vegetarian a few years ago, but i only knew that i didn't want to eat animal. i stoped for a while when i lost my job and ate what i could. no excuse i know. but soon later to realized my mission in life and purpose. i am here to be the voice of those who do not speak human. i changed my outlook to this because i found a boxer mix dog laying under my porch. she had gotten hit by a car and was severely starved. everyone around me was like leave it alone, you don't know where it came from, but i didn't care i had to save her. i rushed her to the emergency vet clinic where they did immediate surgery on her. despite those peoples commentary i saved a dogs life and from that point on i knew that if people treated a dog that way i wonder how people treat non domestic animals. I researched and came across peta2 where i now am an animal activist and vegan. I continue to help and save animals that i find and plan on never changing my ways for any one.

Stop giving me drugs!!!
So. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 3 years ago. They put me on Cymbalta for it at the time, and it made me -really- really sick. so I discontinued use. I’m on Celexa and Trazodone for depression and anxiety, and ONLY agreed to take them because I ended up being institutionalized before hand -.- (they have helped immensely, and dont make me sick). Anyway. I’m still against taking anything that doesn’t seem necessary.
Well.
I was going to a chiropractor twice a week, and it was REALLY helping my fibro. It was temporary, of course. But for a couple days after each visit, I could at least do things like, oh I don’t know… bathe. clean my house. wash my clothes. Stuff like that, which I am often in too much pain to do.
Downside: My insurance only covers 15 visits to the chiropractor a year, UNLESS I get a referral from my primary physician – in which case they will cover it as often as I go.
15 visits gets used up pretty quick when you’re going twice a week.
So I went to see my doctor today, to see if he would give me a referral.
I explicitly said I DO NOT want to take any more drugs. ESPECIALLY when I know the the chiropractor helps me, and in more cases than not medication for fibromyalgia DOESNT work.
What does he do?
Well, denies me the referral right away because “he doesn’t think a chiropractor would help”… uh… sir… did you hear me? IT DID HELP ME!
Then. Prescribes me more freaking drugs. Elavil. SIR! YOU ARE NOT LISTENING! I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE MORE DRUGS!
Why on earth would I want to take something that may or may not work (and probably wont), has a good chance of causing side effects, was tested on animals, etc. etc.
When I could do something that I KNOW helps, has no side effects, and doesn’t affect animals in any way?
I.
Am.
PISSED.
First world problems: I can’t get my doctor to stop giving me drugs.
-.-
sorry for the rant. It just really irritates me. The doc is obviously more concerned with making money than the wellbeing of his patients.
sorry for the rant, folks. I’ve been screwed over by the health care system a lot -.-
