Stray dog showed up and we’ve decided to keep him around as an outside dog but he craves attention and won’t let me sleep. I can’t make him be quiet either and I can’t stay outside with him, what do I do?

It’s day three and I’ve startedbringing him in at night. He seems to be doing better. We’ve still got to work on the cat situation but he’s getting less aggressive towards the other animals…. He’s showing progress tho and he’s smart.

Or you could just keep him in a seperate room from the cats?

maybe he would get used to the cats given time? Or if you know of anyone else who could give him a loving home where he could stay inside that might make him happier?

I would love to let him inside but he doesn’t like cats and we have 3.. I brought him in this morning tho to give him a bath and rid him of ticks. He seemed to be ok with that…the chances of him getting stolen where I live are slim to none (it’s a very small community) and he had a place to bed down last night he just insisted on jumping on the door to peek through the window. He seems ok this morning tho.

    Hey @MissCaudill,

Dogs are pack animals, they depend on you for love and protection. He will probably calm down if you let him inside. Dogs left unattended in their own yards, even for a few minutes, have been stolen, poisoned, and beaten. They can suffer from stress, loneliness, and heatstroke in the summer. :(
