Article Title: Lady and the tramp stamp: Tattoos for dogs this season’s hot new trend
“Pet groomer Jorge Bendersky is being hounded for his new temporary glitter-and-glue tattoos for dogs, which can last for as long as a month or wash of in one bath. ‘Just because the weather is getting warmer, and dogs are getting their hair cut short, is no reason to lose the glamour,’ he said.”
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I know a lot of people have issues with owners who go to grooming extremes with pets (ex: temp dyeing fur and cutting it in artistic fashions) but in the end dogs love lots and lots of attention. What sometimes appears like exploitation is often extremely pleasurable to the dog.
It’s no different to dressing up a companion animal, as long as they don’t mind and it’s not causing them any discomfort then why not?
I like to think of companion animals as like human toddlers; if you would/wouldn’t do it to a toddler then it should be the same for your animal companion (and many human toddler love wearing temporary tattoos!).
I think they’re fine, some are kinda cute, I think as long as they aren’t harming any of the dogs then they’re ok, plus they come off after one bath so if it turned out the dog didn’t like having it, or it was irritating the dog, then it can be removed pretty much immediately
