I have been a vegetarian for 3 years now and I plan on becoming a vegan once I am able to buy my own food. Mainly because of the problems my family gives me. Ever since I first stopped eating meat my parents, grandparents, sister, ect. have mocked me,made fun of it,and laughed about how apparently its “so funny that we kill animals for food” they have tried to convince me to eat meat so many times but I just ignore them. I really don’t understand why they can’t leave me alone. Does anyone else deal with these problems? Plus now they have a whole other issues with me wanting to wear cruelty free make up,I pay for it so I do not understand why they have to be so rude.
@NicoleLynne Yeah no one seems to like to respect others decisions. But I won’t worry about it, I think when things like this happen to anybody as long as they truly care about whatever they are standing up for they will continue to do it no matter what others say. And thank you for replying.
@kumikumivegan18 That’s terrible that people harass you at school! I wish some people could just grow up and learn to respect others decisions. And I know what you mean about people fearing what they do not understand, its sad but no matter what other people say I know we have to stick with how we feel because by not eating animals we are helping out more than we know.
Yeah, I feel ya on that one !! It’s hard & people don’t understand nor think the same about animals has others. Yes I think it’s okay to eat meat, so I am not going to make it a big deal and constantly tell them about eating meat. So they should respect my views and let me in peace with the not eating meat. But of course issues like this seem to always come up. I would just not worry about it too much ! I get used to just being my own bestfriend .
