So I’ve noticed that alot of vegan recipes involve tortilla shells, but every brand of tortilla shells I have found say they contain glycerin and/or mono or diglycerides (as “dough conditioners”). Arent these ingredients animal-derived???

Try going to whole foods. The ingredients are more natural. Also, if it’s kosher parve, it has no animal products or dairy products. It could still have eggs or honey though.

The VRG lists these ingredients as ‘typically vegan’ but they can come from animal sources. Your best bet is to see if the label has a ‘Suitable for Vegetarians’ label.
