I always am interested by hearing about characters in media have some vegetarian and vegan principles. It does make me wonder though if maybe they are trying to encourage more people to make the switch to nonmeat diets. Feel free to add to the list.

Lisa Simpson – The Simpsons: Lisa is a vegetarian and probably the first one most people think of when TV vegetarians. I think Apu the convenient store clerk is vegan, but not sure.

Spock – Star Trek: Even Spock knows eating meat is highly illogical.

Aang- Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang respects the life of all living beings. He says he’s a vegetarian, but I’ve never seen him eat dairy, eggs, or any other animal products so I think it’s safe to say he’s vegan.

Sam Manson – Danny Phantom: She’s a recyclo-vegetarian and to this day I have no clue what that means.

Sharon – Braceface: This is one of the few shows where the main character is a vegetarian. Again I believe she is a vegan, but I don’t know for sure. I also like nthat a lot of episodes refer to animal rights’ issues such as fur farms, animal testing, and dissection.

Bruce – Finding Nemo: Fish are friends not food. Bruce and his friends refuse to eat their fishy brethren.

Shaggy – Scooby Doo: This becomes a shade or grey because depending on which version you’re watching he is at times vegetarian and other times not. Idk

Elle Woods – Legally Blonde: She does claim that she is vegetarian and fights against vivisection as well as the gay rights of animals. XD

Lenny – Shark Tale: Yep, another vegetarian shark.

Kat – Kenny the Shark: This show was on Discovery Kids and Kat became a vegetarian after watching a movie of an antelope getting killed at school. For a while she even got Kenny to go veg until he sees a seal and can’t fight his animal instinct to hunt. (Don’t worry the seal did get away.)

Bubbles – Power Puff Girls: In the episode “Collect Her”, she claims to be a vegetarian.

Todd – Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World: Todd is one of the ex-boyfriends who is a vegan and apparently being vegan comes with super powers. Sweet.
