• Urban decay is no longer 100% cruelty free

I don’t use this but I found out after we heard the wonderful news that urban decay won’t sell their products in China (where animal testing is compulsory) something terrible happened.
Although the product is still not tested on animals it has now been bought by French cosmetics company L’oreal, which tests on animals.
It seems another cruelty free company (like the body shop) has been bought by L’oreal.

teatowls – that’s how I feel about people eating Taco Bell while boycotting KFC :/ Your money is going to the same people you’re boycotting..

I would be lying if I said I was sad about this. Urban Decay only had vegan eye shadow, and it was waaay to expensive. Why would I pay 29$ for one thing of eye shadow when I can get every color under the sun from e.l.f. for half that.

    Disheartened yes, bummed, not really.

I also refuse to buy anything involved with the L’Oreal/Nestle company.

L’oreal is buying everything at the moment…. it doesn’t matter if those products aren’t tested on animals, the money is still going to a company that DOES test. As far as I’m concerned it does test for that reason and as such needs to be boycotted until L’oreal changes it’s policy.

    Hey all,

Don’t you worry, Urban Decay will remain cruelty-free! The company assured PETA in writing that its animal testing policy will not change. YAY! :D

You can read more about it here: http://www.peta2.com/blog/urban-decay-stays-cruelty-free/.
