I know, I know, nothing quite compares to the sweetness and creaminess of ice cream, but I’ve discovered that a few green grapes or cherries stuck in the freezer for a few hours creates a delicious sorbet-like flavor. :) And certainly WAY better for you. It tastes so good, especially when the weather is hot. :D

@Fit4Life111 You should find out what your college uses because, even though it’s lactose free, it still may not be vegan.

Actually, our college has always sold vegan ice-cream (but none of us new it until this year when they put up signs saying it was lactose free!)

I don’t know what they use but I find that soy chocolate ice-cream is just as good as the real thing….

I’ve made the banana ice cream many times this summer. My favorite version is the chocolate so far. http://cleangreensimple.com/2011/03/vegan-ice-cream-without-a-machine/ And I’ve also made chocolate silk pops with only the chocolate silk as an ingredient as well as using the last bit of juice or smoothie up in pop trays too.

I like making my own ice-pops with real fruit bits in them :)

    Banana homemade icecream from http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/03/08/banana-ice-cream/

    bananas, frozen
    plain or vanilla soymilk
    sweetener, if desired

Start with at least 1 frozen banana per serving. If the bananas are not sliced, break them into pieces and put them into your food processor. Begin processing, and slowly drizzle in soymilk until it is the consistency of ice cream. Add sweetener, if desired, and blend it in. Serve.

    Variations:

add cocoa powder while processing to create chocolate-banana ice cream
other frozen fruits work well, too. Try peaches, mangos, strawberries, or any combination.
add walnuts for banana-walnut “ice cream”

Tip: wrap bananas in plastic wrap before freezing. Be sure they’re frozen solid before using.

Also if you want to buy icecream: sodelicious has vegan icecream which tastes awesome (you can buy it at save on foods where i live)
