@RobertMair That was an option as well, buying chocolate almond milk, but it comes down to either being expensive or wasteful. If I get the small shelf stable quarts, it’s like 4$, if I get the half gallon that’s half the price, it just goes to waste, since it doesn’t taste good in oatmeal or coffee =/
Needless to say, my mother was very upset when she heard what I paid for this hot chocolate. But honestly, it’s just me drinking it, and only every now and then. Plus it’s ethical chocolate.

Actually I just boil chocolate oat milk and get just as good result.
You could do it with soya but I prefer oat milk.

Oh no! That sounds awful, but there are alternatives so I wouldn’t sweat it too much. Maybe trying other recipes would work though. Idk

@Dagmar I tried, and I mean, I really tired to make my own hot cocoa and it just didn’t turn out. It was bitter and very dusty, I guess, for lack of a better word. One batch I made, made me choke and spit hot cocoa all over my wall, and headboard and pillow =/

I make my own hot chocolate. Mix some sugar, cocoa powder, and dairy-free milk in a saucepan. So easy and yummy.

I’ve got some Spanish hot chocolate mix, if you make it just right it’s so thick you can stand your spoon up in it! (And that’s without vegan squirty cream!!)

I just thought I would share what I have found After a very long, arduous search I have finally found vegan instant hot cocoa, which is unbelievably hard to find. Anyways, starbucks makes instant hot chocolate that’s totally vegan and the chocolate is ethically sourced. I just tried the peppermint one and it was crazy rich and super yummy. It’s kind of pricey, but worth it for a treat now and then.
