• Vegan/Vegetarian Girlfriend?

Yea. so hmm I guess its been hard to find those vegan/vegetarian types then again do you find it easier to just convert the person you are dating? ;0 I suppose it really depends and this is probably when your tabling skills come out full force am I right? I also see that by cooking and showing them cool meals it helps I guess though if someone is already vegan or vegetarian its often easier. I have dated girls in the past that aren’t vegetarian at all and its a bit of a bore because there is nothing to talk about. I suppose my lame problems will not get much advice but, yea overall I guess it depends .

What do you think is the best way to meet a vegan or vegetarian to date? I have used dating sites too and those don’t work out too well because some girl was like “YEAAA I love animals I am VEGAN!” *munches on a McDonald’s burger. Call me a wimp but, I just don’t like liars who use my values as much as a pawn to date me. So I guess my question is just finding a vegan or vegetarian girlfriend?

I agree that there are more than plenty of children in the world, so there is no reason for a person who wants kids to have there own. Also, because there are so many people on earth already, I think it’s very..I’m not sure of the word I’m searching for…maybe selfish? that people continue to have children knowing there are so many already in need of a home and because our earth really can’t support much more humans. That’s interesting silencescreams, I’ve never heard of a circular mindset, but it seems like a circle makes more sense to me as well. (:

Though I am currently single, my thoughts on what I want in the future impact a lot what I want now. I am not a huge kids person but if I did ended up adopting (I have a strong belief that there are enough children who need homes in the world, that we don’t need to create more) there is no doubt in my mind that they would be raised vegan. So, though this may seem overly conscious over simple dating a guy it would be really important that if I did end up with them they would be okay with that. On a more typical every day level, animal rights and a circular mindset (compared to a pyramid where humans are at at the top) are so important to me that they are a huge parts of my morals and values.

I think the new site is much better than the old though and I’m sure they’re still working out some things as well. lol why would wordpress have major security holes? That’s so weird I really thought that practically everyone in CA would know what a vegetarian is haha. Awessoommee that your leafleting at work events! I haven’t leafleted in a while /: Haha, so you’re on the computer pretty much from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep? I couldn’t do that; I’m probably the only person around my age who really doesn’t like being on the computer all that much. Some days I could be on for close to the whole day, but when I do that I’m most likely playing a game and even then I don’t like to be on for more than maybe three hours at a time lol. Your friend has a point, but who wants to work their ass off for their entire youth? I know it’s a cliche, but you’re only young once. If you spend all your time when your young working, so when you’re old you’ll be okay, when’s the time for fun? Most people work from their early teens and then go to college while still working. Then they finish college and get a job in the “real life” (because apparently their life before really wasn’t real -.-). From that day forward they work the same schedule everyday until they meet their love, or someone they’re settling with, get married have kids and continue to work while taking care of rug rats in their off time. By the time they have time to breath their 60. Even if you love your job and kids it just doesn’t sound like a good life to me *shrugs*. I don’t grow any of my own food yet, I live on a hill so it really isn’t possible lol. However, my boyfriend and I are moving within the next year and a half or two years to somewhere cheaper than NY and that has some land so we can grow some veggies and fruit (: I have no idea what an SRE engineer is, but awesome! haha and awesome about the app company; I hope it goes well (: Thank you! I neither have a domain yet nor have really gotten started. I am going to start on etsy to get the name out and build a somewhat steady flow of customers, but I would eventually like my own website. I already made the etsy store but don’t have it up yet because I’m still building inventory. So it’ll be a while until I’m ready for a domain.

TofuMonster yea, this site is confusing as I can’t even save some information when trying to complete the profile. As I can tell its using wordpress.. haha uh oh MAJOR SECURITY holes in there alright :) I was saying that majority of people the Fresno area don’t know what a vegetarian is but, where I live its somewhat easy but, yea even SF is pretty insane about too! I agree though that I do pay for myself but, WORK too much literally I just talk to people online haha and attend events at work or for work but, there still is managed to do leafleting at work events :) Taking a break is something I have yet to do but, I guess the only break I do is keep my macbook pro straight in my face on my bed from getting home to bed time even then Ill crash on the computer ahhaa. I have a friend who started a small phone company but, he goes me “Yea, fuck bitches right now just make all the money you can go to a bar and meet them screw it man you need the money first” While his logic is somewhat odd I suppose its oddly true need money in order to get a good life its the way of the world money brings everything :) I do grow my own food to an extent but, still go to the store for certain things I want to get a way bigger house and just have a little side for only plants :) My job KICKS ASS! I work at Google as an SRE Engineer but! I might be quitting soon why you ask? Its because I finally have some capital for small app company I have been working on for about 2 yrs or so. I need more cash flow for servers and accounts since the user base for my applications via iPhone iPad, iPod, android, and the mac platform have grown to a crazy number and email demands. Good luck on your business! whats your business called is there a site yet if not I can develop one pretty easy with a lot features all you need to do is having hosting and a domain name :) However, I do have hosting and yes I don’t charge I just use my hosting space for fun and other sites have as well as my business. So let me know!

    Thanks!

Fresno?? Soo strange, I have noo idea why it says Fresno haha. I live in New York (: and really? people who live there don’t know what a vegetarian is? I thought most people in CA would know. Although it is a big state *shrugs*. That’s true most people want to be with someone who can pay for themselves. So i guess you should keep working, but take a break once in a while! Just sit on the couch and do nothing. Haha it might sound boring, but it’s nice to just be able to do nothing even if it’s only for two minutes (: lol the industry wants us to believe that we need those things to survive and they’ll spend unimaginable amounts of money to get that point across. Especially the dairy industry; it’s so ridiculous that even on the newest food pyramid there is STILL dairy on the side. I want to grow my own food toooo! I’m so sick of not being able to by bell peppers and certain fruits because they all have shellac on them! On top of being healthier because you know exactly how your produce was grown it’s also sooo much cheaper. That’s awesome (: your job sounds cool. I was going to college, but it ended up not being right for me because I just absolutely hated going. However, I’m still learning stuff every day at home and am starting my own business selling handmade crafty things.

Lol. TofuMonster it says you live in Fresno, CA lol all my relatives live there crazzyyy I thought that place was full of just like “duhh whats a vegetarian a what veganatae what? Yea, my relatives are like that unknown on all that stuff. Yea, being busy as hell sucks like my dad says “No guy or girl is gonna date a person who can’t pay for themselves” haha which is true but, not with me but majority of people. So yea, gotta keep working and working. I really don’t see the point in the eggs, dairy, and meat though because of the benefit that we are not dying from a plague yet, the industry wants US to believe that. Even a real farm doesn’t seem too right because I would rather grow produce which is way more beneficial in both nutrition and health. Heh, you are right though if you build a cool bond with people here its always good to check it out because I NEED people to help with events here too I can’t depend on co workers all the time! haha Yea my job has kick ass co workers :) Despite that i am focusing more on the mobile application development aspect to get people to download apps to their phone for entertainment but they are being educated :)

Yeah it sucks how everyone is so busy nowadays; no one has time to just be. They’re either working, at school, or sleeping, which in my opinion is no way to live. Oh yes, the “free range” and “organic” meat eaters, who are equally if not more annoying than pescetarians. I always say to them that unless they actually go to the farm and see how things are they have no reason to believe what these farms are telling them is true. However, even if I found a farm that was a real farm and treated their animals properly, I still would not want to eat the animal or eat eggs. It just seems so wrong and nowadays there is absolutely no need for it. haha no I wasn’t referring to this as a dating site, but if you happen to become friends with someone and they live in your area, why not meet IRL? lol and hahaha good idea! at least the world is becoming a little more vegan friendly. Well Nick, I did see a UK thread here somewhere lol. I think there are a lot of vegs in the UK, of course I don’t live there so I wouldn’t really know. But I feel like the UK is more accepting of vegans than the US. I could be wrong lol *shrugs* idk.

Lol Nick I thought most of the UK was full of vegans haha! I guess I get mixed messages from people ;0 “UK is full of meat!” “UK is super liberal full of vegans look at vegan society” its tricky

Lol tofumonster yea, older people indeed I do have a few friends that are their sons and daughters from meet ups but most of the sons are pretty cool I made some good friends with but, heh most are just going to law school and such quite busy. While I am busy as well with software engineering work and i0S development. The pescetarians are quite annoying ;0 but, I think they are more so into the “I’m eating free range, organic and nicely slaughter meat” because sometimes they refer to cows as tasty heh weird.. I guess I need to build up more confidence too about my beliefs! :) Lol I doubt PETA2 is a dating site HA! plus I live in the lamest area San Jose, CA its near Oakland but, the PETA office is near HAHA! yea, gahh its like “once you are vegan you are now exiled to live in an eternal hole in suspended animation” LOL Gah, I might just code some basic app to make a role playing game of “vegan in a non vegan world” haha

Haha awh that sucks that there were only older people at the meet ups for you. Maybe they have vegan children or something? lol…and ahh pescetarians are soo annoying! I mean it’s great and all that they don’t eat chickens, cows and pigs, but when it comes to fish they all say, “but it tastes so gooood” and “oh, fish don’t feel pain” and stupid stuff like that *rolls eyes*. pyth0nc0der0, you should say that to them. I think some people don’t listen to themselves when they talk and sometimes don’t realize what they are saying doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Also, perhaps you and Nick could meet some cute veg girls here on peta2? They are around the right age, all veg, some may live near you, and I’m sure most of these girls know what they’re talking about. lol (:

Nick well yea, I live near Santa Cruz so we should have a few of those likes around the area haha but, most of them are like this “Yea, fish is so healthy and good I love fish and they are so cute too” woah woah rewind they are cute and beautiful and you eat em? just like cows too? I don’t say that aloud just think it in my head. Perhaps some day! ;0

Lol kick ass Tofumonster! Yea, I agree though the dating sites are cool I have tried some (sadly) I also tried a few meet ups but, mainly the meet ups consist of 40-52 yr olds haha which kind of sucks. I do agree though it depends I guess its just a hard time but, its always better to convert them however, I know some people well I dated one where she went “vegan” just because I was and then eventually she just couldn’t take “eating dirt” so she quit being vegan. Its fine and all just either fakes are the worst. I suppose the best way to connect with like minded folks are protests? heh However, some get a little to hardcore in my face during that situation “MEAT IS MURDER GO VEGAN!” *yells in face) but yea.

I know there are vegetarian dating sites where the only people on there are vegan or vegetarian. I’ve never used one of these, but my boyfriend used to have a profile on one to just meet cool people who don’t eat animals (: . Also, I don’t know where you live, but there may be a vegan meet up group in your area. I’ve been to a few meet ups where I live and it’s fun. Usually they’re at a vegan restaurant, so you get to enjoy some awesome food and company.
