So, I’m a vegetarian who is trying to cut back further on meat products and I saw an add for Vegenaise in The Vegetarian Times. Kind of random, but I just wanted to know how close it is to mayo. I don’t want to spend money on something I don’t think I’ll like, but if I can eliminate mayo totally from my diet that would be totally awesome! So what do you think about it, is it any good?

    Thanks!

I look for any excuse to eat Veganise. One day, lunch was just tomato and cucumber slices dipped in that stuff(healthy I know haha). I think its super good and haven’t heard any complaints about it. I was really hesitant to try it as well, but totally fell in love. Thre only thing I don’t like is the price =/ It costs me 7$ for a small jar and 10$ for a big jar, it’s like 100 times the price of mayo, but it lasts me a long time and I use it to make the best Asian salad dressing ever lol

I always preferred salad cream before going vegan but vegan salad cream is very hard to find so I settled for Veganaise which is ok, not sure how close it is to mayo though.

Maybe you could contact the company and ask if they send out small samples?

I’ve been using certain food items that are vegan since before I was vegan or even vegetarian. I have tried a few different brands of vegan mayonnaise, and I remember thinking that Vegenaise didn’t taste very good. I don’t use mayonnaise very often so they could’ve changed it, but I probably would not recommend that brand. However, when I want to use things like that, I use either Nayonaise or Earth Balance. Personally, I prefer Nayonaise because I think it is more light than Earth Balance, but I would recommend either.
