I just get a lot of crap from kids at school about being in vegetarian. Living in western oklahoma, where everyone is either farmers and/or steak lovers, doesn’t help either. I really wish people at my school were more open minded. Also, if they aren’t vegetarian, ok cool, but don’t give me crap for being one. People these days….

I used to get the ignorant rude comments daily from school AND family but having flyers and info helps and you don’t have to say anything back just hand them the info and they will have a shocked expression. Luckily at my new school we have THREE vegetarian teachers

Nothing really…being made fun of for being vegan is something I got used to because people are always going to make fun of me. But I’m still vegan and that’s all that matters.

That’s really rough. I’ve had a few people get on me about it, but ever hardly face to face. People are judging for race, gender, age, etc. and now for what you don’t put on your plate. It’s so absurd the way people act.

I was looked down upon for being “so stupid”. People always pull the “we’re higher up on the food chain. It’s just natural. We need meat to live.” But we’re all living proof that isn’t the truth. The only thing we should be responsible for is controlling the population of animals below us on the food chain. Which can be done in COUNTLESS ways that don’t involve mass-murdering. Another thing they always say is that this is what they’re born to do. Doesn’t that make it that much worse? I just don’t understand people sometimes. I know EXACTLY how you feel. =/

wth thats so rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like just wow!!!!!!!!!!!! like i just came home from camp and every1 is so nice to vegitarians, like they dont even let u touch meat, like if some1 says pass the beef another person will be all thats rude they r a veg dont make them touch it!! heavan!!!!!!! but ive had like sliced sandwhich meat chucked at me when i was first vegitarian, (people r rllly nice to me about it now, except when they forget, then they start talking about how much they love meat and cant like without it) but it still makes me so pissed off that people do that just cuz we r vegitarians!!!!!!! a-holes!!!!!!!! like bro come on and get a life, and least we stand up for something! like last night my brother was being really rude and making fun of me for being a vegitarian so i just started asking y hes so rude to me about being a vegtarian i just didnt get it and he just sat there with no answer and i kept asking and my dad started yelling at me saying i was being rude i was so freaking confused/pissed!! so for such a long comment but it just makes me so pissed like get a freaking life and stop hating on people just becuase they actually stand up for some thing in there like thats not as useless as video games and comic books and leather shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their bullying only serves to strengthen your beliefs. It’s as if they feel through their hurtful actions that they are somehow “helping” you when in turn it makes them look like a gigantic turd.

Oh gosh, that’s really gross I’m sorry you had to have that happen to you !! I’ve had a person chase after me with a dissection chicken, I’ve had people throw beef jerky at me, and I’ve had people but meat in my food. Like c’mon guys, really ? :p Nonetheless, that has only made me a stronger vegan and activist

The world is full of closed minded tools! No scratch that cause tools are helpful and have a purpose! (apologies:I get heated over theses things) I remember being in school and it was dissection week in bio (luckily I was in physics) and a kid took out a fetal pigs eye and stuck it in my hair!!
