I had never feel comfortable eating with someone, why?? I don’t know other vegans so I have to go out with my friends (carnivores), in my family I’m the only vegan too and my husband lately has been interested in what I do and my point of view… yesterday I saw how he defends animals rights with a friend of him, he was really sure in what to say, he was amazing! but… he always says he admires me and that he wants to quit eating meat but he can’t. what can I do to help him if he kows about the cruelty but doesn’t decide to change..??

    Hey @4nancycollins,

It’s great that you love animals enough to want to find an alternative, but did you know that meat companies often lie about how their animals are treated? Even labels like “grass fed”, “free range”, and “kosher” are often just marketing ploys to get people to buy their products :( Sadly, these animals are often beaten, abused, and killed in extremely inhumane ways- just like the animals on factory farms! Instead you should buy Gardein or Boca burgers: just as tasty, but cruelty-free and way healthier!

    :)

Hey @MsInsanity. It sounds like your husband gets the concept of animal rights. He just needs to see how easy and AWESOME being vegan is. :)

I recommend showing him this: http://features.peta.org/VegetarianStarterKit/

If you cook for him, and he learns how delicious vegan food is.. he might not feel so much like he’d be missing out. Here’s a good place to start: http://www.peta2.com/recipes/

Find out what his reasons are for not quitting meat then try to solve these issues! If it’s because he’ll “miss” certain foods, show him the delicious alternatives. If it’s because he’s worried about nutrition, give him the facts.

well… if you can’t get him to stop eating meat, then buy the meat that he eats at a farm that grass fed beef.
Then at least the animal that he eats had a good life.
