No one really hunts where I’m from, but I won’t hate someone if they do hunt.

I think hunting is awful. I don’t understand how killing someone is “fun”. I also hate the argument “Deer are over populated. If we didn’t shoot them they would take over.” I also respond with something like “Humans are over populated. Shoot them.” I don’t see how killing a deer is any different than killing a human.

lol “forced to talk to one”. I live in Ohio. If I avoided hunters, I’d have very little physical contact with people.
When I was in high-school, kids were actually excused from school on the first day of hunting season.
Basically my entire family hunts, and a lot of my good friends hunt.
We all had long discussions/debates about it. Some respectful, some not.
In my personal experience, it is way more difficult to get a hunter to stop hunting than to get an omnivore to go vegan.
Every single discussion always lands on “the deer are overpopulated, if we don’t shoot them, they’ll overrun everything” to which I usually respond with something like “Humans are overpopulated. Shoot them.”

West Virginia infested with people that hunt, so I definitely understand. Hunting is murder, just because it is not murder of a human doesn’t make it just. People at my ridicule me for caring about animals and even designated a day to wear shirts degrading vegetarianism. You just have to shake it off and know that you have superior morals.

I belive that hunting should be illegal. I think that killing is a crime, just think about it. People killing innocent animals are very cruel. The animals do nothing to them, People will get over there heads in killing and end up harming or killing a person. I want to make shirts that say hunting should be illegal.

I HATE it. i live in wisconsin and hunting is huge around here. more people do it, than people who dont. i dont understand how someone can kill something so easily and not feel so guilty. i think its sick.

I personally think that hunting is disgusting!
I do however think that people who do it because they have to such as Indians, they kill and they use every part of that animal! They kill because they have to, people who do it out of pure sport really piss me off! People who go out and take lives of creatures that were here before we even were as a prize of for show disgust me and i would love to give them a taste of their own medicine.

If animals were fine before humans, why are they such a problem now? Its nature, and humans just get in the way of it

Hunters are murderers.
It’s as simple as that.
It just so happens that the lives of the innocent defenseless beings that they murder aren’t yet fully protected by our laws.

However, their lives will be fully protected by our laws in the near future.

The fact that these murderers don’t go to prison for murdering these innocent defenseless beings doesn’t make it any less wrong.
The laws are just running a bit behind.
Just as they were running a bit behind in the case of slavery & segregation.

Each state is different, perhaps you don’t have our issues with deer so you don’t fully see what the issue is. To fund a program to ‘birth control’ the deer population around here is going to be highly pricey. Were exactly do you think the government will come up with the money to “birth control” the deer?
Responsible hunters make sure their mark is true, and if the awful happens they track the deer to end the misery they caused it. Some people’s hunting helps them so they can spend less money on nasty store food, it helps keep their freezer full and feed their family.
Ya’ll make it sound like if ones a hunter that they are a devil.

If you really care so much about the deer, control their population with birth control, or even something as small as preferentially killing females. Preferentially killing males is designed to keep populations high. Not to mention that hunting even fails at reducing suffering–for every animal killed, two are injured, run away, and end up dying a slow death. And about killing for meat… It’s fine if it’s for PURE SURVIVAL. Which it really isn’t. Not to mention, the animal doesn’t care WHY it was killed–only THAT it was killed.

Annie, You only have a partial truth here… so typical of people here.

Around here there are no real natural predators other than coyotes and we are over run by deer. (occasional wolf or puma will trek through but they don’t live here) They can either die by jumping out in-front of cars and bikes or be shot for their meat. Either way the families are torn apart.

You are also lying about how hunters just kill to hang heads up; more partial truth propaganda bull. Not all hunters kill for “trophies”, and gee, how do I know this… most hunters I know kill for the MEAT not the heads or antlers.
