So, I’ve been thinking about that for a while now, and I really don’t know what I would do. I just figured here would be the best place to share.
I’m completely against animal testing. But I’ve been wondering what would be my reaction if I found out I’m sick. Not a little sick, a “might lead to death” sick, but, that could be easily cured by drugs that have been tested on animals. Would I take it, or would I try all the other natural options, with the risk of serious complications ?!
It would be kind of hypocrite of me to take the drugs knowing that I’m against animal testing. But, in the same time, not taking the drugs is a really huge risk to take.
Or the same situation but with a sickness that doesn’t kill you but for example, make you lose sight. Your life isn’t in danger but the complication is pretty huge.
Does anyone else ever thought about that ?
Have you come to a theoretical answer ? ( theoretical because of course, we never know what we would do facing the actual situation ).
I completely understand where you’re coming from, especially since it’s hard to find affordable medicine that isn’t tested on animals. If it’s something little, like a cold, I let my body heal itself, or find a natural solution. (Such as tea). However, I whas recently hospitalized and in need of a surgery. A lot of their medical equipment was 3M (which tests on animals), and I’m almost certain their medicine was too. But if I wanted to go to any hospital other than Kaiser, I couldn’t afford it. So I personally will (and do) use animal tested medicines if I don’t have another choice.
I agree with @FAR completely as well because I have a kidney transplant yea it sucks. I am doing fine now though as long as I take the meds which these meds just lower my immunities thus making my donated kidney look like a native organ to the human body and be able function. I suppose the meds I take were animal tested its f*cking genetch drugs but, yea its rare to find anything good. If you are going to die its best you take it otherwise being dead doesnt do anything to help animals or anyone else in any cause PETA or any other cause. Its depressing and I push for other methods of testing but, I suppose some companies will not change unless more things come about.
