My Mom is totally okay with my being vegetarian, and is even cooking without meat occasionally and is okay that I don’t drink milk or eat eggs anymore. However, my Dad won’t leave me alone about it, and keeps saying things like the above title. It really hurts and I can’t just say that to him because he’ll still think he’s right, but I’m worried. I want to start an animal rights group at school, but what if no on will join, and I get bullied because of my views? If my own Dad can’t support me, then who will?
(p.s.) I highly doubt that any of my friends would join and be serious enough to want to help out. Thats not just because they’re meat eaters either.
Hey @lucky7amira! Don’t get so down on yourself. There are a lot of people that are going to make occasional remarks simply because they don’t understand. If talking about it with your parents doesn’t work, sometimes it’s best to let it go for a while and not try to push the issue.
If you start a group at school, you’ll probably find that there are more people than you think who actually do care about animals just like you! If that doesn’t work, you can always hang around the boards for a bit. We’re here for you and we applaud for being a voice for animals.
Stand up for yourself!
Shout it from the rooftops! I AM A VEGAN AND I’M PROUD!
If you take away people’s ability to make you feel bad about yourself, then theres no reason they’ll bully you.
And you should start that group. Think of all the animal lives you’ll save! Every one here supports you in your efforts. I’m proud of yourself and you should be too!:D
Gurl, I have one sentance for you: Stand up for yourself!!! Get your mom to talk to your dad about your animal rights views.Ask him to be nicer to you. And true friends would join in on whatever you do, and if your current “friends” don’t do that, then they’re not real friends! Surround yourself with people that understand you, and will help you and support you in whatever you do! When you have your true friends close, then take action! Create that group that you were talking about, and go out there and save some lives.
Good luck gurl! I hope to see some major action from you soon
