Year of the Dog stars Molly Shannon as Peggy, a solitary but sweet secretary who lives alone with her dog, Pencil. When Pencil dies unexpectedly, the course of Peggy’s life is changed forever as she discovers animal rights and important issues like companion animal overpopulation, factory farming, and vivisection. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard, John C. Reilly, Regina King and Laura Dern.
