Alicia Silverstone Isn’t Down With Down

We have some serious ♥ for vegan beauty Alicia Silverstone. The gorgeous actor has always had a soft spot for animals. She turned heads in a majorly hot “vegan testimonial” for PETA talking about the benefits of a plant-based diet and has a vegan makeup brush line with Eco Tools and an awesome website, The Kind Life, dedicated to living an eco- and animal-friendly life.

But her awesomeness doesn’t stop there! She recently teamed up with peta2 again to show people the reality of the down industry. “Down? What’s down?” you might say. Ya know—the feathers used in pillows, jackets, bedding, and more. What you might not know is that those are the super-soft feathers closest to a bird’s body and they are painfully ripped out by the handful while the frightened duck or goose is forcefully restrained.
