… and get your friends in on the movement!
There’s no doubt that it takes heart, determination, and an unbreakable spirit to make it in the NFL. Teaming up with peta2, NFL stars Antoine Bethea and Maurice Jones-Drew are using that same attitude to make winning plays for animals.
San Francisco 49ers safety Antoine Bethea is a leader on and off the field. He’s a twice-elected Pro Bowler who was recently named the Indianapolis Colts’ Man of the Year for his leadership and commitment to helping those less fortunate. In his new peta2 “Ink, Not Mink” public service announcement (PSA), Bethea encourages fans to “play hard and make kind choices” for animals.
Joining Bethea and countless other compassionate athletes is Oakland Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew. After learning that animals used for their fur are beaten, electrocuted, drowned, and even skinned alive, Maurice posed for a hard-hitting peta2 PSA to remind fans to be comfortable in their own skin and let animals keep theirs.
Every year, millions of animals—including rabbits, foxes, minks, and even cats and dogs—are kept in cramped, filthy cages in unbearable conditions before being killed in horrific ways. Pledge never to wear fur or clothing with fur trim, and spread the message that animals are not ours to wear!
Animals have lives and souls and they go through pain and suffering just as humans do, and they need to be treated accordingly.
