Christofer Drew's Vegetarian Testimonial

Posted by  peta2 staff

If you’re anything like us here at peta2, you get really stoked when that new issue of Alternative Press comes in the mail. Even better is seeing Never Shout Never’s Christofer Drew staring back at you from the pages in a new ad for peta2. In the ad, which was shot during Warped Tour this summer, Christofer poses with flowers in our “Animal Testing Breaks Hearts” T-shirt, next to the tagline “I’m Christofer Drew, and I’m a Vegetarian.”

When he’s not writing amazing songs for Never Shout Never that make you want to smile, dance, and tap your feet, he’s strumming his guitar in front of hundreds of adoring fans and promoting things that he believes in—peace, love, faith, and animal rights.

Says Christofer,

Factory farming is terrible for the environment—not to mention that it’s gross. The best thing you can do, if you think about it, is to become a vegetarian and just spread the word. The world would change for the better for animals, humans, and the planet if everyone took that step.

And because the environment is a big interest Christofer’s, it only makes sense that he follows a vegetarian diet!

According to the United Nations, the factory farming of animals is the leading cause of climate change, generating more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, planes, boats, and trains in the world combined. A staggering 51 percent or more of global greenhouse-gas emissions are caused by animal agriculture, according to a report published by the Worldwatch Institute.

Not only is the meat industry bad for the environment, it’s also a living nightmare for animals who are raised for food. On factory farms, many chickens have their wings and legs broken, baby pigs are cruelly castrated, and cows are strung upside down and have their throats cut—often while still conscious and without any painkillers.

On the positive side, following Christofer’s lead by switching to a vegetarian diet will save at least 100 animals every year, reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, strokes, and certain types of cancer, and help the planet. So what are you waiting for?

Before you start looking for delicious vegetarian recipes, make sure you follow Christofer’s lead and take the Pledge to Go Veg!

You’ll be saving animals, improving your health, and making the planet a better place. Not to mention, you can start swapping veggie recipes with Christofer!
