Dennis Rodman Says, ‘Ink, Not Mink’

Posted by  peta2 staff

Known for causing as big a controversy off the court for his wardrobe as he is on the court for his rebounding, Dennis Rodman is causing a stir again … but this time, it’s for what he isn’twearing.

Covered only in his tattoos, the NBA legend posed in the buff for PETA’s new anti-fur campaign, “Think Ink, Not Mink.” Rodman says that he doesn’t like to see anyone suffer—whether it is a homeless person (his Dennis Rodman Foundation helps homeless people) or an animal. So when he heard about PETA’s program that distributes donated furs to homeless shelters across the country, he immediately agreed to pose for the ad, which encourages consumers to “be comfortable in your own skin and let the animals keep theirs.”

Furriers have offered free furs to Rodman over the years, but he’s always refused to take them, opting to go faux instead. Why go faux? Simple, because animals on fur farms are beaten to death, strangled, drowned, or electrocuted before they’re turned into coats, collars, and cuffs.

Find out what else Rodman has to say about fur in the exclusive footage of his photo shoot at L.A.’s Smashbox Studios with photographer extraordinaire Ian Brooks. Rodman’s makeup was done by Autumn Moultrie, his hair by Tanya Stine.
